Showing Up Where Caregivers Already Are

This weekend, I had the opportunity to set up a booth for The Caregiving Corner at the Senior Expo in Sandy, Utah, and I felt something simple but meaningful.

Readiness.

Seeing the name displayed, the table set, and the materials laid out reminded me why this work exists in the first place. Caregivers and seniors don’t always have the time or energy to go searching for support. Sometimes support needs to show up where they already are.

That’s what this weekend was about.

I loved connecting with caregivers, seniors, families, and professionals who are all doing their part to support aging, independence, and dignity. We shared resources, conversations, and encouragement. No pressure. Just presence.

The event was a true collaboration. Organizations like Simply Seniors, Senior Contributions, and the Utah Coalition for Caregiver Support were all there, alongside volunteers who generously gave their time while also managing their own booths and responsibilities.

That kind of commitment says a lot.

What stood out most to me was the heart in the room. These weren’t just vendors. These were people who care deeply about families, clients, and loved ones. People who understand that caregiving is not a side issue, it’s a central part of community health.

Being there reinforced something I believe strongly. Caregivers don’t need to be fixed. They need to be supported, informed, and reminded that they are not alone. That’s what The Caregiving Corner aims to offer, whether online, one-on-one, or across a folding table at a community event.

I’m grateful to be part of a network of people who show up like this. Who give back. Who share resources instead of guarding them. And who understand that caring for caregivers ultimately strengthens everyone.

If you stopped by the booth, thank you. If you’re just finding us now, welcome. There is space for you here.
