The Caregiving Corner was founded in 2013 to support the often unseen, under-supported people who care for others every day.

Caregiving is meaningful, but it can also be exhausting. Many caregivers experience chronic stress, fatigue, anxiety, isolation, and the quiet erosion of their own well-being. Too often, self-care is framed as optional or indulgent when in reality, it is essential.

The Caregiving Corner exists to change that narrative.

We believe there is a direct connection between self-nurturing and self-respect. When caregivers are supported in caring for themselves, they are better able to care for others, sustainably and without burnout.

Our mission is to inspire, support, and appreciate caregivers by providing education, resources, community, and encouragement that honor the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Founder & President, The Caregiving Corner

Like many caregivers, I stepped into the role out of love and responsibility, without fully understanding the long-term toll it can take when self-care is consistently placed last.

Over the years, I experienced firsthand the physical, emotional, and mental strain that caregiving can create. I struggled with depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, and unhealthy habits, all while continuing to show up for others. Eventually, my own health declined to the point where continuing to work in the traditional sense was no longer possible.

That experience became a turning point.

I learned the hard way that caregiving without self-care is not sustainable. Reclaiming my self-care power wasn’t optional; it was necessary. That realization is what led me to focus my life’s work on advocacy, education, and support for caregivers, so others don’t have to reach the same breaking point to understand their own worth.

I founded The Caregiving Corner in 2013 to create awareness around caregiving issues and to champion the well-being of caregivers themselves. Today, my role is dedicated to caregiver advocacy, consulting, wellness education, and community support.

My background includes hands-on caregiving experience, previous work as a CNA, and as a Master Esthetician, an expertise that deeply informs my approach to self-care, wellness, and restoring dignity to those who give so much of themselves.

In addition to my work with The Caregiving Corner, I have served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Utah Coalition for Caregiver Support, where I worked to help raise awareness of caregiving challenges and improve quality of life through advocacy, education, and access to resources. I also served on the board of Senior Contributions, an organization dedicated to supporting underfunded programs for seniors in Utah through community-based fundraising efforts.

Service has always been central to who I am. Whether supporting caregivers, serving on nonprofit boards, or helping bring a community together during times of crisis, I believe deeply in showing up, giving back, and creating spaces where people feel supported and seen.

Today, my focus is on using everything I’ve learned, professionally and personally, to advocate for caregivers, educate communities, and remind caregivers everywhere that their health, well-being, and humanity matter too.

I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah, and currently reside in St. George, Utah, with my spouse, Jamee Mitchell, an Enrolled Agent (EA) and Senior Partner at The Tax Company, who also serves on the Board of Directors of The Caregiving Corner. After tax season, you can usually find us recharging somewhere near the ocean.
