Caregiving asks a lot of the body. Long hours on your feet. Lifting, bending, supporting. Holding tension you don’t always notice until your shoulders ache or your energy disappears. That’s why we’re especially grateful to highlight Ashlie Shafer, one of our fundraiser sponsors who is deeply aligned with supporting physical well-being in a realistic, compassionate way.

Ashlie is a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and studio manager at OHM Fitness St. George, where she works primarily with adults ages 60–80, helping them build strength safely without strain, injury, or wear and tear on the joints. Her work centers on one powerful idea: movement should support your life, not exhaust it.

Smarter Movement for Real Bodies

OHM Fitness uses EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) technology, which gently activates muscles up to 200% more than traditional workouts without heavy weights, machines, or high-impact movement. Clients simply wear a specialized suit and complete a 25-minute guided session that helps:

  • Build lean muscle

  • Improve circulation

  • Increase metabolism

  • Reduce pain and stiffness

  • Support better posture and energy

All in less time than it takes to run an errand or grab a coffee.

For caregivers, this approach is especially meaningful. Many want to move their bodies but feel limited by pain, fatigue, or lack of time. Ashlie understands that reality and meets people exactly where they are.

Bringing Physical Support Into the Caregiving Corner

At our fundraiser, Ashlie will be supporting the Physical Corner, one of several “corners” designed to give guests time and space to explore different forms of support... emotional, mental, and physical.

Ashlie will be sharing practical tools caregivers can use immediately, including:

  • Gentle stretches

  • Simple movements that can be done during breaks

  • Chair-based exercises

  • Techniques using everyday household items

No equipment. No pressure. Just small, accessible ways to give your body a reset, even in the middle of a busy caregiving day.

Guests will also be able to connect with Ashlie directly, grab her contact information, and learn about any special offers available if they choose to explore OHM Fitness further.

A Partner Who Truly Gets It

Ashlie’s work reflects the heart of what this fundraiser is about: support without overwhelm. She brings education, encouragement, and options so caregivers can feel stronger, more supported, and more at home in their bodies.

We’re honored to have Ashlie Shafer and OHM Fitness St. George as part of this event and grateful for the care and intention she brings to our community.
