Caregiving is an act of love but it is also one of the most demanding roles a person can hold. It asks for patience, strength, advocacy, emotional regulation, and decision-making under pressure. Most caregivers don’t plan to become experts in healthcare systems, housing options, or end-of-life conversations. They step in because someone they love needs them.
That’s why we’re honored to feature Jaime Slack and Garrett Costley, co-owners of The Brand Is Love, at our caregiver appreciation event. Their work is rooted not just in professional expertise, but in lived experience, walking alongside families during some of the most emotional and overwhelming seasons of life.
Reframing Senior Living: What Most Families Aren’t Told
One of the most common and harmful misconceptions caregivers carry is this: “Senior living, assisted living, or memory care is too expensive and not an option for us.” The truth is more nuanced.
Many families delay exploring supportive housing because they assume it’s financially out of reach, only to discover later, often in crisis, that options did exist. In reality, senior living costs can sometimes be comparable to or even less than the combined cost of in-home care, home maintenance, medical support, and caregiver burnout.
Jaime and Garrett specialize in helping families understand the full picture, including what different levels of care actually cost, which communities offer flexible or more affordable options, how timing, availability, and health needs affect pricing, and when staying at home may cost more emotionally and financially.
Their approach is honest, pressure-free, and deeply family-centered. No sales tactics. No rushed decisions. Just clear guidance so caregivers can make informed choices with confidence.
Care for the Caregiver, Too
What sets Jaime apart is her background as a certified life coach, which she intentionally weaves into her work with caregiving families. Caregivers often show up exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly grieving the life they used to have. Decisions feel heavier. Guilt runs deeper. Clarity feels out of reach.
At the event, Jaime will be offering life-coaching support specifically for caregivers, helping them process the emotional weight of caregiving, navigate guilt, grief, and burnout, find clarity in high-stakes decisions, and reconnect with their own needs and boundaries.
This is not therapy. It’s practical, compassionate support designed to help caregivers breathe again and remember they matter, too.
A Partnership Built on Love and Integrity
Jaime and Garrett built The Brand Is Love together with a simple but powerful belief: Families deserve guidance rooted in love, not pressure.
They work as a team to support caregivers through independent living, assisted living, and memory care options, urgent and non-urgent placement needs, personalized community matching, and ongoing emotional and logistical support.
Their presence at this event reflects their heart for caregivers, not just as clients, but as human beings doing incredibly hard work.
Why They’re Here
At a night dedicated to giving back to caregivers, Jaime and Garrett aren’t here to “sell.” They’re here to listen, educate, and offer steady support. Whether a family is planning ahead, in the middle of a crisis, or simply exhausted and unsure what comes next, their message is clear: You are not alone. There are more options than you think. And help can be loving, honest, and accessible.
We’re grateful to have The Brand Is Love as part of this event and deeply appreciative of the compassion and clarity they bring to our caregiving community.
